For 30 years, Family Dental Plus has been Wilmington's one-stop dental practice — general, pediatric, orthodontic, implant, oral surgery, and cosmetic care under a single roof. This blog is where we'll share what we see, what we've learned, and what's worth knowing.

Why a blog?

Because our patients ask us the same questions every week:

• "Do I really need this crown?"
• "Why does my child need braces so young?"
• "Is an implant worth it over a bridge?"
• "What's the difference between Invisalign and traditional braces at my age?"
• "Will my insurance actually cover this?"

We answer these one-on-one in the chair every day. Now we'll answer them here, too, in plain English (and Spanish).

What we'll cover

Each specialty in our practice will contribute. Expect posts on:

• Preventive care: cleanings, sealants, what hygiene really means at every age.
• Pediatric dentistry: first visits, anxiety, kids' orthodontia milestones.
• Orthodontics: Invisalign, traditional braces, retention, adult treatment.

• Cosmetic dentistry: veneers, whitening, when they make sense and when they don't.
• Insurance and cost: how to read your plan, what to ask before treatment, our financial options.

Practical, not promotional

We're not going to sell you on anything you don't need. Where treatment has alternatives, we'll explain them. Where research is mixed, we'll say so. Where we have a strong opinion based on what we've seen, we'll share it — and tell you it's an opinion.
